An assessment into predictive validity of Islamic Azad university MA entrance exam: A Case Study of TEFL

Abstract

       This research aims to determine that whether MA Entrance Exam significantly can predict successfully academic achievement or not. The research question in this study sought answers about the extent the performance in public examination predict academic achievement in university degree examinations. In order to do this research, the researcher used row scores, rank and Grade point average of 135 teaching English students admitted to the Azad university MA entrance exam, Iran, Shiraz branch during 2010 to 2012. Data analysis indicated that rank of the students and their row scores can predict their future success. The researcher has used Pearson Product Moment and SPSS software version 16.
